Sex Offender Registries: Good Idea Gone Bad?
"PA’s sex offender registry lists 100 names within a one-mile radius of my house. Should I be worried?"
"And therein lies one of the problems. If the public is unable to discern genuine risk from a public sex offender database, the system is no longer working. Youth offenders are barred from attending school, while adults struggle to find work or even a place to live. It begs the question: Are we setting these people up for failure?"
