Sexual Assault Crackdown In Soho

"Scotland Yard is stepping up its campaign to cut the number of rapes and sexual assaults in London.

Licensing laws are being used to close pubs and clubs where high levels of attacks take place.

LBC 97.3's Kath Stanczyszyn says officers want to restore confidence in the force. She said: "The Met are targeting nightspots where sexual assaults are common, in essence, creating a hostile environment for rapists, removing the places they operate in.

"It's a fairly radical idea, but the Met says they have to think of different ways of tackling this problem, because the number of women reporting rape is drastically down."
