Extra measures for child protection
"TRAGIC: Eight-year-old Sarah Payne [this scheme would not have helped, Sarah, at all]
ELEMENTS of Sarah’s Law [sic] could be introduced in the Isle of Man by the end of this year.
But unlike the UK, there will no presumption on disclosure of information about child sex offenders.
Instead, each case will be considerd on its own merits and disclosure will only be made if necessary where there is potential to protect a specific child from significant harm.
Sarah’s Law [sic] enables members of the public to ask the police whether an individual such as a neighbour or family friend is a convicted sex offender [but, not only those].""
