Paedos [sic] purge
"PAEDOS [sic] are escaping justice [sic] because police cannot access [sic] their sick [sic] emails to other child abusers [sic], a top cop has warned.
Peter Davies — boss of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection unit — urged MPs to back new laws to target perverts.
Home Secretary Theresa May will unveil a draft bill tomorrow which would make sure internet providers keep basic “phone bill-style” data on all emails.
Mr Davies said: “This will help us protect children and pursue abusers.”

'Sadistic child abuse' is rife, is it? Haven't we heard that hysterical claim before?
"In each of these unhinged panics, innocent people were arrested and families were ripped apart, as social workers who believed their own made-up horror stories invaded homes across Britain. And now Ms Berelowitz, the new Pervert-Finder General, wants us to believe that sadists lurk in every "town, village and hamlet" and that the government ought to do something about it. It is the latter bit we should really be worried about. Are these people even aware of how much they sound like the cranky overseers of the Salem witch trials? History tells us that when figures in authority insist that sadists and weirdos and witches are stalking the land and gobbling up our children, we should simply refuse to believe them."

The Children's Commissioner for England
"Maggie Atkinson is the Children's Commissioner for England. The Commissioner and her team make sure that adults in charge listen to children and young people.
The role of the Children's Commissioner was created by the Children Act 2004 and is there to promote the views of children and young people from birth to 18 (up to 21 for young people in care or with learning difficulties)."

Highlighting concerns, acting together and concentrating on children
"Finally, I wanted to remind you today (Friday 25th May) is International Missing Children's Day. Sue Berelowitz, Deputy Children's Commissioner attended a reception earlier this week at 10 Downing Street hosted by the Rt Hon, Theresa May MP, Home Secretary to highlight the day. In response to the Government's Missing Children and Adults Strategy today the charity Missing People is launching 116 000 as the number for advice, support, help and options if you, or someone you care about goes missing."

A lesson in how not to abolish a quango
"Here, then, is an object lesson in how not to abolish a quango. Instead of disposing of a superfluous, largely powerless and discredited body, the government has given it a new lease of life, new powers and a stronger voice to criticise government. Not only has the coalition lost an opportunity to save the taxpayer £3million pa, it has - whilst almost certainly ensuring that the quango's budget will continue to grow - also generated additional, unquantified, cost to taxpayers by giving the OCC power to make new demands on the public sector in response to its findings."

Michael Gove is a brave and brilliant man, but handing head teachers the freedom to set staff pay is pointless
"Maybe Mr Gove's decision to expand, not close, that most useless and hubristic of quangos, the Office of the Children’s Commissioner, was another such. As Jill Kirby asked in her incisive blog on Conservative Home yesterday, “Would Michael Gove, if acting alone, have appointed John Dunford (a vocal opponent of free schools) or succumbed so readily to the “children's rights” lobby? Wouldn't sheer common sense have informed him of the fallacy of assuming that one man (or woman) should have the power to speak for 11 million children?”"

"Same Horse - Different Jockey"
"I do feel that a better candidate for Board 'Chair' than Ms Battle whose experience was gained whilst working for one of the most useless quangos, Childrens Commissioner for Wales, could have been found at Office Angels. Her statement is as empty and meaningless as any I have heard from someone chosen to Chair an organisation with a £1bn budget. Let's give her the benefit of the doubt as she probably makes an excellent 'cuppa', even though she will probably will be word perfect in every platitude of her longer-serving colleagues."

Comment:
Did the kids choose to obtain their 'furni' at Habbo and then 'Get Jiggy'? - Did you ask them, listen to them and assist them in their rights?
It is that time of the year, for the UNCRC and the CPI.
