Man hounded out of second town
"A MAN accused of being a child abuser was run out of Castle Douglas on Saturday.
The 46-year-old had been hounded out of Annan a couple of nights previously and was found accomodation in the Stewartry town.
But his stay did not last long as people tracked him down and he was again forced to move on.
The man’s name and picture were posted on the social networking site Facebook with allegations that he was a paedophile.
Members of the site called for people to report sightings of the man, after some suggested he had moved to Kirkcudbright and Creetown.
The vigilante-style campaign was described by police as “inappropriate”.
And the Facebook pages were eventually removed on Monday after police advised complainers to report their concerns directly to the social media site.
The pages contained of hundreds of comments, ranging from potential sightings, allegations he was a paedophile and threats of violence."
