The awkward truth about lie detectors

“What number of wrongful convictions are we comfortable with?” asks Prof Wiseman. “You get some with all types of evidence. But I suspect that if we start using polygraphs more widely, we could end up with as many as five to 10 per cent of cases ending in an innocent person being convicted. I think most people would find that completely unacceptable.” Is that really justice?"
