"Barbara Hewson is unrepentant. The barrister seems even to be relishing her notoriety. Against the current spate of historical sex abuse allegations she made headlines by claiming that there was a witch-hunt of ageing celebrities that was now a “juggernaut out of control”.

Hewson’s chambers, Hardwicke, has made clear that her comments are her own and she has had abusive e-mails. Yet the human rights and public law specialist has received support, too: why, one person said, is it even news that she is putting forward an alternative view?"
