"The police claim that because some random stranger (not my doctor or a relative) called them and claimed that I had threatened to commit suicide on my twitter feed… and despite the fact that this was not supported by any actual evidence …this entitled them to ignore all established protocol and remove my rights as a valid and credible person in my own right… and treat me like I was a dangerous mental health patient.

Me and my family are currently grieving a suicide, but we are not suicidal… nor would I ever consider leaving my family in such a way… nor would I post about such a subject in that way on twitter! Have you lost your senses? What right do you have to assume I have lost mine.

The police had no rights to undermine my mental health credibility in such an abusive appallingly prejudice and aggressive way (certainly not on an unsupported hoax call) they had no right to force me to ‘bring in’ two adults to speak for me … what if I could not find two adults to speak for me that night?"

Child sex offender tells of struggle with temptation

"On Wednesday Pendleton's lawyer David McKenzie challenged Cs' intention to reoffend after undergoing two sex offender rehabilitation programs in prison, arguing the plan to build a new life in South East Asian had been a innocent one.

"Really it was your intention whilst you were in custody to not offend against children," Mr McKenzie said, to which C responded, "That was my hope, that I would be able to do that."

"It's one thing to come out of the program with a strong motivation," he said.

"But as things change, I found out (ex-wife) wanted a divorce, my mother died, I was losing what I saw as a normal life on the outside and old habits were starting to re-emerge."

Mr McKenzie said C was to testifying against the other two men to carry out his end of a plea bargain, but had not really intended to offend.

"You wanted to live the lifestyle over there, you wanted to have relationships with women over there, you wanted to run a business over there," Mr McKenzie said.

C said the lifestyle was only "part of the plan", while the opportunity to offend against children was also included in the trio's designs.

"There were some times I felt I was going to offend again and other times when I thought I didn't," he said.

"When depressed it's easy to go back to a comfort zone, which I felt at that time was offending.

"Thinking about children, interacting with them, looking at their photos, did bring me closer to wanting to offend.

"It's something that comes and goes, depression, what goes on around me, whether I feel strong enough not to offend.""

Colburn man found hanged following arrest

"A MAN who was arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography was found hanged at his home the following day, an inquest heard.

TSP, 42, was found by his son and wife, from whom he was separated, at his home in Colburn, near Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, on Saturday, August 18, 2012.

The Richmond inquest yesterday (Friday, February 8) heard how Mr P was been arrested on Friday, August 17 and his computer and electronic equipment confiscated by police.

Mr P, a former picture-framer, was taken to Northallerton Police station where he was questioned, and admitted to officers that he suffered with depression and had self-harmed in the past."

Birmingham man killed himself after being accused of sex attack - inquest

"Coroner critical of "serious failings" of mental health trust after death of Acocks Green dad

A married dad who had been accused of a sex attack killed himself by breathing in toxic fumes after ‘significant failures’ from mental health bosses.

MW, 42, died of carbon monoxide poisoning, an inquest at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall heard.

The coroner was told that Mr W had been so distressed by the allegations that he had tried to kill himself twice before.

His wife D said he disappeared from the family home in Acocks Green for ten days following his questioning by police."

Cliff plunge pair inquest resumes

"A man and his "totally devoted" mother killed themselves by jumping off a cliff at a renowned suicide spot in East Sussex just days after he was arrested on suspicion of possessing child abuse pictures [no such offence].

The bodies of EG, 81, and 58-year-old CG were retrieved from the base of Beachy Head, near Eastbourne, on March 21.

Two days before they died, Mr G had been arrested on suspicion of possessing child abuse pictures [no he was not ]. He had been freed on police bail pending further inquiries.

JC, the niece of Mrs G, who was known as B, told an inquest at Eastbourne that the mother and son were very close.

She said that in recent years, Mr G had been suffering personal problems which she believed had led to him suffering from depression.

She said: "All was not well with C, he may have been suffering from some sort of depression. He was out of work for a bit because of sickness and he'd been having problems with one particular person at work, B indicated he may have been bullied.""

"A paedophile [sic] who downloaded child porn has been spared jail - after a judge said locking him up could be more dangerous to society in the long term.

JF, 35, of Bargoed, South Wales, had amassed a collection of around 2,700 indecent images when police raided his home earlier this year.

Cardiff Crown Court heard almost a third of the images were at the higher end of the offence scale - with 786 graded level four and 29 level five images. The details of the photographs were so serious, Judge David Wyn Morgan asked the media not to publish their details.

He said: "The natural [conditioned] reaction of any decent [sic] human being would be that you should go to prison for as long as possible [why?]. But when the revulsion [why?] has subsided, the court must consider precisely what that would achieve [indeed].

"You would go into prison as sex offender [sic] and still come out as one [sic] - just as dangerous [i.e. not] if not more so than you are at the moment [not hard, from a baseline of, essentially, zero]. And the protection of the public [being everyone] must be of paramount concern to the court.""

"Judge Morgan decided to make the defendant the subject of a sex offenders treatment programme for three years. He will also have to sign the sex offenders register until at least 2017 and undertake 250 hours of unpaid work.

F is not allowed to have any contact with any children under the age of 16 - either in person, on the telephone or via the internet - without the approval of their parents. He is also banned from deleting the browsing history on his computer as well as erasing any images from a digital camera or camera phone without permission from the police. [grossly disproportionate, and outside the remit of a SOPO, as usual - what are these defence lawyers doing for their money?]

Judge Morgan said: "This is not a soft option. It is a particularly difficult one."

Stress on sex offenders increases risk of re-offending

"Rehabilitation programs help to reduce these offences in the community.

Making child sex offenders feel unwelcome could only increase their risk of re-offending, according to an expert in the field.

Melbourne University criminology fellow Mayumi Purvis, who has worked with child sex offenders to reintegrate them into society, said a holistic approach to rehabilitation was needed.

"If we're serious about this we have to be holistic in working with this as they will invariably end up back in the community," she said.

Dr Purvis said while many people supported the idea of rehabilitation in theory, in practise it was not always the case.

She said some concern from parents was understandable but attempts to push a child sex offenders out of a suburb may have harmful effects.

"Stress and inability to cope are often a risk factor to offending," Dr Purvis said.

"That pressure and terrorising of them, abusing them in the streets; that is elevating their risk [of re-offending] tragically."

She said child sex offenders were far less likely to re-offend than most other criminals."
