Community Attitudes Toward Sex Offenders

"Thank you for your interest in this study, looking at the attitudes of the British public toward sex offenders. Over the coming pages, you will be asked a number of questions. Firstly, these questions will be about you. This will help us to divide our sample into certain groups and personality types in order to see whether people with different approaches to life have specific patterns in terms of their attitudes toward sex offenders.

Following these questions about you, we will ask some questions about how you feel about ‘offenders’ generally. Finally, you will be asked to answer some questions about your attitudes and perceptions about sex offenders. Note that there are no right or wrong answers to any of these questions, and that it is important to us that you respond to the questions as honestly as possible.

Your responses will be kept securely and confidentially in a password-protected database, and are completely anonymous. The only way that we will be able to link you to your responses will be if you choose to remove your data from the study. You may do this at any time within two weeks of completing the survey. Following this, we regret to inform you that removing data will not be possible as analysis may already be underway. You also have the right to stop taking part mid-way through completing the survey. To do this, just close your browser.
