On Monsters And Men

*****

"Sexual Abuse and the Sexual Offender examines the myths perpetuated by the media and widely held by the public, by providing actual data, with case examples, to demonstrate how sexual offending occurs, who commits these acts, what might cause such crimes, how sexual offenders are assessed, supervised and treated, and how to prevent such offending from occurring to the reader or to members of her or his own family.

Of key importance, this book corrects the common assumption that all sexual offenders are depraved predators who are strangers to their victims. In fact, the vast majority of sexual offenses are committed by otherwise seemingly normal men who are well-known, and even well-loved, within their families and communities. Also of crucial importance will be the fact that the vast majority of sexual offenders, once treated, are at very low risk to re-offend. In fact, sexual offenders represent the lowest risk group to re-offend amongst all offenders released from prisons or other institutions. Sections include the separation of offenders into meaningful categories, the actual frequency of sexual offending, its possible origins, the justice system's methods of supervising offenders, the instruments employed to measure risk, and how clinicians actually treat offenders in the therapy process."

Child Trauma Expert [a biased expert is no worthy expert at all]: Pro-Pedophilia [sic] Groups Are ‘Grooming’ Public to Accept Adult-Child Sex

"Pedophilia advocacy groups, including the tax-exempt B4U-ACT founded by a convicted sex offender, are trying to “groom the public” into accepting adult-child sexual relationships, child trauma expert [sic] Dr. Joyanna Silberg told CNSNews.com.

“There is no legitimate scientific work that could justify the action of an adult with a child in a sexual relationship, because by definition [there is your mistake of circular reasoning] a child cannot consent,” [sic] said Silberg, executive vice president of the Leadership Council on Child Abuse and Interpersonal Violence.

“If you look at their backchannel communications [?],” Silberg continued, “they have clearly stated... that the B4U-ACT public persona is to kind of seduce [?] or groom the public into their way of thinking so that they can act. But they don’t say that on their public websites.”

Silberg, whose organization has debunked studies [where?, is that the totality of your 'debunking'? - you want a debunking of your 'debunking'?, see below.] claiming that sexual relations with adults do not harm children, added that “there is zero likelihood of [B4U-ACT] having an impact” on the sixth edition of the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), which declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder in 1973, and called any comparisons between the two as “completely ridiculous. [care to say why?]”

Rind And Tromovitch

"A study published in The Scientific Review of Mental Health Practice attempted to replicate the Rind study, correcting for methodological and statistical problems identified by Dallam and others.

It supported some of the Rind findings, both with respect to the percentage of variance in later psychological outcomes accounted for by sexual abuse and in relation to the finding that there was a gender difference in the experience of child sexual abuse, such that females reported more negative effects [of what, though?].

However it also acknowledged the limitations of the findings (college student sample, self-report data [same as for most 'victim' studies), and did not endorse Rind's recommendation to abandon the use of the term 'child sexual abuse' in cases of apparent consent in favor of the term 'adult-child sex'. [we prefer MSAc/CSAc - Minor Sexual Activity/Child Sexual Activity]

In their conclusion, the authors address the objection that Rind's work and their own would give support to those who deny that child sexual abuse can cause harm [from what, though?]: "The authors of the current research would hesitate to support such a general statement.

Instead, our results, and the results of the Rind et al. meta-analysis, can be interpreted as providing a hopeful and positive message to therapists, parents, and children. Child sexual abuse does not necessarily lead to long-term harm."[44]"

Lydia Does Not Yet Fancy The Idea Of Penises

Oh Lydia, Lydia ... education scars you for life - how odd.

PUBLISHED: 00:36, 30 March 2013 | UPDATED: 00:36, 30 March 2013

Children of 12 exposed to explicit conversations on webcam chat sites

">Up to [?] 50 per cents [sic] of live video streams on chat sites contain porn.
>Most internet porn filters do not block online chat rooms.

Children as young as 12 are being subjected [sic] to obscene images and explicit conversations on free video chat websites, child safety [sic] experts [sic] warn.

The Daily Mail found up to [?] 50 per cent of the live video streams on these websites contain nudity or graphic acts.

Parents are often unaware of this danger [sic] in their own homes because most internet filters fail to block the sites."

Comment:

Maybe Lydia never will.
Maybe Lydia is a (proto)lesbian.
Maybe Lydia is a bit of a wimp, who needs to shape up or ship out.
Maybe the story, as given, is BS.
Maybe, in essence, Psychotherapy is BS.

What are facts, is that there is no danger, no harm, no trauma ... only learning, some frowns and giggles, and, maybe, a few orgasms (if, perhaps, a little one-sided).

There are many more possibilities, than Omegle, Streamberry and ChatRandom ... and, guess what? .... the kids choose to go and watch and play.

Such are the glorious wonders of the internet; now time to repeal some laws.

If you do not like it, control your childrens' access to adult domains .... and make a few more Lydias, in doing so.

The day my 11-year-old son found violent porn on the web

"Children have always found ways to discover the world on their own and that’s essential and it’s important that adults don’t interfere with that discovery and self-education ..."

Editorial: Child pornography [article nothing to do with IIOC] is a menace [sic] the law can't prevent

"However unpopular it makes them, parents have to be vigilant – intrusive even – about what information their children are sharing with others.

They have to get tough in insisting on the constant use of strict filters on smartphones and computers.

For the most part children are several steps ahead of adults in computer technology, so monitoring what children are looking at is always going to be hard.

The unpalatable alternative is just to give up, and abandon the hope that we can make more of a collective effort to protect children from this insidious menace [sic]."

Parenting and Pornography

"As pornography becomes more available to youngsters through the internet and mobiles, Mariella Frostrup and guests discuss how we can best equip the next generation to deal with it.

Reports show that the numbers of children accessing explicit sexual images are growing. There's increasing concern that youngsters who watch pornography regularly may be tempted to act out scenes of abuse on other children, and that many kids' ideas about relationships and bodies are being affected by the images they are watching."

‘Sexual offences have nothing to do with sex, it is always violence’ - What?

November 1, 2012 5:00 PM

Insight into the mind of a paedophile [sic]

"The justice system is often criticised for giving lenient sentences to paedophiles [sic].

But how the court deals with child abusers depends on two things: the seriousness of the offence and a paedophile’s [sic] capacity and willingness to change.

There are often borderline cases where sex offenders can either be dealt with by a prison sentence or treated in the community.

One such case emerged last week when a long-serving Hampstead teacher was convicted of sexual activity with a child.

He had been facing up to two years’ jail, but in what Judge Donne QC called an “exceptional case”, the teacher was handed a three-year community order.

Judge Donne ruled the paedophile [sic] teacher would receive the most effective treatment and would be less likely to reoffend if kept within the community."

"He [Stanley Ruszczynski] said: “The paedophile [sic] arouses or causes [sic] fear, pain, confusion and disturbance in the victim in an unconscious [Stanley is a Psychotherapist] attempt to rid himself [sic] of these unbearable emotional states [oh dear, is this 2012?].

“Sexual offences are always violent offences, it’s nothing to do with sex. Their capacity for thought is flawed.”" [WHAT???!!!]
