It seems to me increasingly here that Rebekah Brooks faced exactly the charges she wanted to face; what observers and commentators need to decide now is how and why that situation arose."

Phone-hacking trial: Why was Andy Coulson found guilty?

"Early on in the case a veteran journalist described Andy Coulson to me as a "good soldier", and nothing I have seen in this marathon trial has ever led me to disagree with that assessment. The Guardian once reported that the "mantra" at News International when the hacking scandal broke was "You can have Andy but you're not getting Rebekah." Their wish has been granted."

Brooks ‘sanctioned all cash payments’

"Rebekah Brooks had final approval on every cash payment during her six years as editor of The Sun, Kingston crown court was told yesterday.

The trial of six reporters and executives accused of unlawfully paying police officers and soldiers for stories heard that paperwork linking Mrs Brooks to the allegedly unlawful payments had gone missing.

Charlotte Hull, the newspaper’s former news desk assistant, said that Mrs Brooks only signed off contributor payments over £1,000 paid through bank transfers but approved all cash payments regardless of the amount, she said "Any cash payment has to be approved by the editor".

Paedophile [sic] hunters at war over identity reveal threat

"Hinckley-based Scumm Buster blames rival Stinson Hunter for him leaving the group claiming that Stinson Hunter threatened to out him on the internet.

Paedophile [sic] hunters based in neighbouring Midland towns are at war after the leader of one group accused his rival of threatening to reveal his identity online.

Scumm Buster, who ran Hinckley based Letzgo Hunting, has stepped down – and blames rival paedophile [sic] hunter Stinson Hunter for him leaving the group claiming that Stinson Hunter threatened to out him on the internet.

Scumm Buster said he feared for the safety of himself and his family as a result.

He added that he would continue to support of Letzgo Hunting which now has a new leader called Psych O Buster.

But Stinson Hunter, based in Nuneaton, just seven miles from Hinckley, denies the claims and says he has been bombarded with online abuse from Scumm Buster and his three strong team.

Scumm Buster said: “Stinson Hunter revealed my first name online and threatened to reveal my second. I can’t afford to have my identity revealed so I stepped down from my position of leader of Letzgo Hunting.

“Its a decision I felt I had to make under the circumstances. I have to think of my family. Stinson Hunter knows who I am and I can’t risk having my full identity revealed."
