Adult abuse helpline overwhelmed by Savile fallout wins £481k from BIG
"The charity that took the brunt of the fallout [sic] from the sexual abuse revelations [lies and disinformation] about the late Sir Jimmy Savile has been awarded nearly £500,000 from the Big Lottery Fund to expand its telephone helpline service.
The National Association for People Abused in Childhood (Napac) has won [earned] £481,388 from the Reaching Communities programme.
Chief executive Peter Saunders said demand for Napac’s England-wide service “rocketed” after Savile’s prolific offending [what offending?] was exposed [sic] last October. [kkkerrcchiiiinggg]
Before the revelations became public, Napac received around 1,000 calls per month to its telephone support line. During October and November this increased to 3,500 calls per month and has now stabilised at 1,500 to 2,000 each month. [nice work, Peter and Raj]
The main Support Line is staffed 52 hours a week with out-of-hours calls answered by NSPCC staff who have been trained by Napac. Clients are also referred to the charity by police, medical professionals and Samaritans."

ESTHER RANTZEN SURVIVES JIMMY SAVILE SCANDAL THANKS TO THE DAILY EXPRESS
"Earlier, the National Association for People Abused in Childhood apologised for doubting Ms Rantzen.
All references to the child protection champion had been removed from its website after it was claimed that she failed to act on being told Savile was a sex fiend.
But after reading an exclusive interview with ChildLine founder Ms Rantzen, 72, in the Daily Express, embarrassed NAPAC trustees pleaded with her to remain as a figurehead, which she has agreed to do.
"She is a marvellous patron and we want her to continue to promote the work we do."

Ms Rantzen’s picture had been removed from the website on his orders, though it has been restored.
Mr Saunders added: “She is a marvellous patron and we want her to continue to promote the work we do.
“Perhaps we need a new chief executive to take charge because I make mistakes.”
The former That’s Life! host had denied suspecting Savile was a paedophile. But she faced being stripped of her role as a NAPAC patron after allegations by fellow campaigner Shy Keenan, who claimed she told her about Savile’s abuse 18 years ago."
